CMC currently consists of 50 member women's organisations. These organisations are being supported by 7 regional teams of CMC, 1 region still lacks a team which will be formed in 2009. The target group of this project proposal is approximately 1.000 women between 14 and 75 years old. The affiliated women have been classified according to their productive occupation, which can be agricultural production, agricultural processing, textile production, handicrafts and/or cosmetics.

The general objective of the project is to improve the quality of life of the affiliated women by supporting and strengthening their political and organisational capacity, as well as looking for alternatives for social and economic development. Thereby the women should become able to stand up for, and defend their own rights.

Specific objectives for 2009 are:
1. Develop and implement an organisational model for CMC, taking into account the legal situation of its members and the challenges CMC faces.
2. Increase the presence of CMC in local, regional and national politics.
3. Establish a platform to support productive and economic initiatives of the members of CMC.
4. Develop a marketing strategy for the goods and services offered by the members of CMC.
5. Support the members of CMC regarding their need for credit.
6. Establish strategic alliances and programs that will improve the quality of life of the members of CMC in the areas of health, education, technical assistance and marketing.

The following activities have been planned for 2009:
1. Planning and evaluation workshops regarding 2009, meetings of the board and commissions, strengthen the 8 regional teams of CMC, financial audit, communication plan.
2. Workshops to gain more political influence, women liaisoning with local support providers (NGO's etc.), liaisoning at national level by CMC, connecting with regional and international similar organisations, national positioning of CMC, follow-up on operational strategies of the commissions, strengthening of political capacity of leaders, national forum to celebrate the international women's day.
3. Formulation of operational strategy for groups with productive interests, productive follow-up by technical assistance, productive exchanges, technical data elaborated and systemized with regard to productive experiences, support to 2 regional productive initiatives.
4. Pilot plan to improve marketing for the products offered by the women, marketing strategies of CMC designed and put into practice.
5. Negotiate and maintain contracts with financial institutions, credit pilot, opening of revolving fund, capitalise prior experiences regarding credit.
6. Establish contracts with health, education, capacity building and commercial institutions that will benefit the members.

The total budget for 2009 is € 117.886 of which;
€ 50.029 is requested from Agriterra
€ 19.929 will be contributed by VECO
€ 16.929 will be contributed by SCC
€ 31.000 will be contributed by CMC and others
